Roles Description
The Engine Room is soliciting applications for an Associate based in Sub-Saharan Africa. With this role, we will expand and amplify our ability to provide tech and data support to partners in the region in ways that are timely, context-appropriate and creative. We are looking for a team member who understand the realities in which civil society organisations operate and who are able to develop relationships with local partners, and provide tailored tech and data support. They are excellent communicators and are able to work with diverse cultural backgrounds. They also recognise that not all problems need a technology solution and that creativity matched with strong organizational skills can lead to new pathways.

To grow and thrive, it is critical that the new Associate possesses these qualities:
• Project Design and Implementation: Experience in collaboratively designing, implementing, and coordinating projects with data, technology, and design components.
• Technical Support for Civil Society: Ability to provide technical support to our partners in civil society, including organisations and individuals who are interested in incorporating tech and data in a way that strengthens their work.
• Language Skills: Excellent language skills in English.
There is no additional language requirement though we will give preference to those who have some language abilities in French or Swahili.
