JOB DETAILS:
The company is looking for competent and qualified Ugandans to fill the following existing vacancies in the organization. About us: Fiduga Ltd is a flower farm incorporated in Uganda since 1998 producing and exporting Chrysanthemum Cuttings. It is a subsidiary of Dummen Orange The Netherlands B.V. Fiduga Ltd is located 22km. Kampala-Masaka road at former Nsimbe Estates.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring a pest and disease free crop.
• Responsible for formulating preventive and curative treatment measures for pests and diseases.
• Carry out research and trials on biological methods of pest and disease control
• Ensure compliance to phytosanitary standards of Green Care and Green Compliance.
• Monitoring crops for early signs of pests, diseases, or environmental stressors.
• Implement IPM strategies
• Analyzing data from scouting and spraying reports
• Review sanitation procedures and protocols to affirm compliance and effectiveness.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science Environmental Science or a related field.
• An understanding of the floriculture industry, including production processes, supply chain dynamics, market trends, and sustainability practices.
• Has deep knowledge of various pests, diseases, with effective strategies to control and manage them.
• Proficient in the use of pesticides, fungicides as well as biological control agents
• Skills in implementing IPM strategies
• Understanding of environmental impacts and regulations concerning pesticide use, and knowledgeable about sustainable farming practices. Problem-Solving Skills
• Data Analysis and Research.
• Good communication Skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Strong sense of urgency and achievement (result oriented)
• Fluent in English/ Luganda is an added advantage
• Must have impeccable character and high integrity.
• Teamwork
