Purpose of the assignment
The purpose of the activity is to conduct a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative PlayMatters endline data analysis to generate insights that will support program evaluation, learning, and decision-making for future programing. The analysis will help generate output on project outcomes and indicators to inform programming. This data will be used as primary information and a benchmark to inform progress. The analysis will include teacher survey data, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), and other relevant secondary monitoring data.
Specific objectives of the assignment.
- To review and analyze quantitative and qualitative data collected during the PlayMatters endline assessment to generate evidence-based findings that inform project outcomes and impact.
- To produce a comprehensive analytical report that presents key findings, trends, conclusions, and actionable recommendations based on the endline data.
- To compile lessons learned log capturing critical insights, best practices, and challenges identified during the project implementation.
- To develop an endline summary brief and deliver a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities of consultant:
- Review and clean cohort 2 endline raw data sets to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct quantitative endline data analysis using statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, or Excel.
- Perform end-line qualitative data analysis through content analysis, thematic coding, and narrative synthesis.
- Generate descriptive and inferential statistics, including frequency distributions and cross-tabulations.
- Develop data visualization outputs such as charts, graphs, and tables for reporting.
- Provide an in-depth interpretation of findings and recommendations based on the data.
- Collaborate with the project team to validate findings and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Prepare the endline brief (at most 2pages), Power point presentation and lessons learned log from the endline.
- Prepare a comprehensive endline report summarizing key insights and implications.
Responsibilities of IRC
- Organize an Inception meeting to discuss key deliveries with consultants
- Ensure that the hired analysts have access to all relevant datasets, secondary sources, and project documents required for analysis.
- Work closely with the analysts to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness before and during the analysis process.
- Assess interim findings, reports, and presentations, providing timely feedback to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor progress to ensure that the analysis and report compilation are completed within the agreed 15-day timeline.
- Manage the contracting process, payments, and any logistical support needed for the analysts to complete the assignment effectively.
Key deliverable
The Qualitative and Quantitative Data Analysts will work closely together to deliver the following:
- Cleaned and structured data sets.
- Analysis reports (Quantitative analysis report with statistical outputs and Qualitative analysis report with thematic insights)
- Data visualization outputs (charts, graphs, tables, etc.).
- Produce the Edline brief and Power point presentation
- Final Edline report with key findings including lessons learnt and recommendations
- Lessons learned log from the Edline report
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.
- Proven experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis for research or project evaluations.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, Stata or equivalent).
- Strong experience in qualitative research methods, including thematic coding and content analysis.
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into meaningful insights.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Over 10 Years of work experience on a similar assignment with international organizations.
