JOB DETAILS:
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for preparing power system operational reports for production, demand and outages; and monitor and report on production performance of generators, distributors and other customers at the UETCL National control Center.

KEY RESULT AREAS
Assists the senior dispatch engineer to ensure outages during heavy loading conditions on a constrained path are coordinated to minimize curtailments during the peak transmission usage period of the day.
Tracks and reports Outage Coordination against applicable performance indicators, UETCL targets and goals
Lead and facilitate the Continuous Outage Analysis (COA) which ensures outage needs are coordinated as far in advance as possible and are managed to specific criteria to allow them to proceed
Prepare/compilation of demand and outage statistics
Carry out generation and supplies reconciliations
Production of system operations reports, prepare quality assurance reports and carry out Power System incident investigations
Monitor operational compliance in respect to the relevant agreements and regulations
Control, monitor, operate and dispatch UETCL’s Power Administration system
Monitors, control, and/or operate remote substation facilities using SCADA equipment.
Any other duties as may be assigned.

THE PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
The desired person should have the following essential requirements.
• A bachelors’ degree with honours in Electrical engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in power systems control operations
• Communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Team player
• Leadership and supervisory skills
• Customer relations skills
• Computer skills including good command of Microsoft application tools.
• Report writing skills
• Planning and organization skills
• Analytical skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND REMUNERATION
The holder of this position will be offered a contract subject to the Ministry of Public Service Guidelines on the rationalization Exercise of Government Institutions.
