JOB DETAILS:

Qualifications and Experience:
The candidate should have a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture with at least an Upper Second Class from a recognized Institution. S/he should have three years of relevant experience as a Farm Manager in a large progressive farm. The candidate should be a dynamic person self-motivated and capable to work under minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities:
• You will be expected to plan, organize and manage the activities of the Farm.
• Understand the implications of the weather and making contingence plans
• Maintaining and monitoring the quality of yields, weather livestock or crops.
• Ensuring that the Farm activities comply with the Government regulations
• Monitoring Animal health and welfare, including liaising with vets
• Maintaining knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them
• Applying health and safety standards across the Farm estate
• Protecting the environment and maintain bio-diversity
• Ensuring current Government regulations concerning Farm activities are complied with
• Keeping financial and other Farm records up to date.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you by relevant authorities
• Supervises the support staff of the Farm
• Custodian of farm equipment, machines, and all property
• Planning production to maintain farm progress against set targets
• Oversee practical activities: Maintenances of machinery and farm buildings and feeding livestock.
• Oversee marketing the farm’s products
• Maintain the University Farm land boarders and protect it from external users.
