Location: Nile East, Nile West, Albertine and Central

Our client, AMSAF, is seeking a dynamic and driven Supplier Relationships Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in on-boarding and managing grain suppliers across the Nile East, Nile West, Albertine, and Central regions. As the Supplier Relationships Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for suppliers, ensuring they have access to diverse grain markets, financial products, and resources to increase volumes traded. This role is crucial in fostering strong supplier partnerships, ensuring compliance with AMSAF’s quality standards, and supporting suppliers' growth and development in a competitive agricultural environment. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To on-board and manage the relationship with grain suppliers to help them get access to diverse grain markets, access finance, and increase volumes traded

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supplier Identification and Onboarding
Identify and assess potential grain suppliers, ensuring they meet AMSAF’s standards and qualify for inclusion on the platform.

2. Building and Maintaining Supplier Relationships
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers, acting as their primary point of contact to support their growth and resolve any issues.

3. Supplier Education on AMSAF Policies
Educate suppliers on AMSAF’s policies, procedures, pricing structures, and loan terms to ensure clarity and compliance.

4. Quality Assurance
Ensure that all traded grains meet AMSAF’s quality parameters and national standards, addressing any quality issues with suppliers.

5. Sales and Contracting Support
Manage sales and contracting paperwork, develop strategies to increase supplier participation, and report on sales objectives.

6. Aggregation Loan Management
Oversee the relationship between suppliers and AMSAF’s financial products, ensuring suppliers understand and adhere to loan terms.

7. Purchase Order Management and Fulfillment
Monitor and ensure timely fulfillment of supplier agreements, addressing any delays or challenges in the supply chain.

8. Data Management and Reporting
Maintain detailed records of supplier transactions and performance, analyzing data to identify trends and improve processes.

9. Supplier Growth and Development
Support suppliers' business development by providing market insights and facilitating training programs to improve production and financial management.

10. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work with internal teams to align supplier management with AMSAF’s overall business goals and streamline supply chain operations.

JOB DIMENSIONS
Geographical scope: Uganda

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Diploma in an Agricultural related field
Experience
3+ years of experience in agriculture, trade, or sales.

Business Understanding / Knowledge
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite is a plus. Tech-savvy.
Experience in agriculture or related fields are preferred.

Languages
Proficiency in English and effective communication skills.
Proficiency in other languages, such as Swahili, Luo, Runyakitara, or Luganda, is an advantage.

COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS

Internal Stakeholders: All AMSAF Staff
External Stakeholders:a Traders and Customers, buyers, sellers, and partners

WORK CONDITIONS
The role is predominantly field-based, requiring frequent visits to supplier locations across Nile East, Nile West, Albertine, and Central regions. While there is some office work, the position involves extensive travel, with flexibility for field-based tasks. Full-time commitment is required, with occasional weekend or extended hours during peak seasons

ANY OTHER COMMENTS
This role requires strong interpersonal skills to manage supplier relationships, as well as the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced agricultural trade environment.
