Job Overview/Summary:
- UBUCHANGE is seeking a dedicated and passionate Financial Officer to manage and oversee the company’s financial activities.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance, bookkeeping, and accounting, and be committed to supporting disadvantaged individuals and refugees.
- This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of UBUCHANGE while contributing to the vision of economic empowerment across Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure sustainability and growth.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping and accounting, to track revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize resources and improve business performance.
- Prepare financial reports and statements to support decision-making by management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Assist in setting up financial structures and policies that align with the network marketing and direct-selling model of UBUCHANGE.
- Train and mentor disadvantaged youth and women on financial literacy and basic business finance, helping them manage their earnings and grow their businesses.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for business expansion and funding opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in financial management, bookkeeping, or accounting.
- Experience working with social enterprises, direct-selling companies, or community-based organizations is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, taxation, and cash flow management.
- Experience using accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Passion for Africa’s economic development and a commitment to empowering disadvantaged communities.
- Personal experience as a refugee or disadvantaged individual is a strong advantage, as UBUCHANGE prioritizes individuals who understand the challenges their communities face.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and grow with the organization.
