About Urban Greens
Urban Greens Ltd is an agritech business focused on making hydroponics & aquaponics accessible to urban growers. We believe in transforming urban landscapes by providing sustainable and healthier food sources. By promoting urban food production, we aim to generate quality jobs, income, and benefit the climate and environment. The company currently has 12 employees and operates a demo farm in Kampala. Recent market outreach has revealed significant market potential for urban aquaponics systems. We have funding to install 30+ aquaponics systems across Kampala.

Role Description
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated food processing and delivery officer to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing safe and efficient processing of our fresh and processed food products. You will play an important role in maintaining hygiene standards, developing new food products, and delivering high quality and healthy food products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage supply and processing operations, including recording deliveries, coordinating services, and communicating production updates.
• Enforce hygiene and safety protocols at our processing facilities through SOP development, staff training, and record-keeping.
• Drive food product development by creating samples and launching innovative products on the market in collaboration with the marketing team.
• Facilitate efficient production planning by communicating clear needs to the operations team and maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Science, or a related field
• Solid foundation in food processing principles and food product development.
• 1-3yearexperience within the food industry, particularly in a farm-to-market context.
• Strong organizational skills to manage supply, processing, and delivery operations efficiently.
• Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and customers.
• Attention to detail to safeguard hygiene and safety standards and maintain accurate records.
• Creativity and innovation to develop new food products and packaging solutions.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of food processing techniques and equipment.
• Certifications in food safety and handling would be beneficial.
• Passion for sustainable and healthy food products
