About the Programme
In 2022, the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with BRAC International (BI) will be announcing an initiative that will create a positive and measurable impact for 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women and 9.5 million people across seven countries in East and West Africa, including Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uganda.
There is mounting urgency to support adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) living in poverty, which has been further amplified by the global pandemic. Through this partnership, scalable economic development approaches will be delivered in communities to foster the agency and voice of AGYW. They will have the opportunity to fulfill their aspirations, achieve sustainable livelihoods, and engage in advocacy issues
BRAC International will implement an integrated and holistic model to address the various life cycles of a young woman living in poverty, ensuring she is able to transition safely from adolescence to adulthood. She will be equipped with the appropriate skills, tools, and access to finance to effectively exercise her agency and build a fulfilling and productive livelihood.

HR Coordinator
Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Head of HR, s/he will liaise with program managers and department heads to manage staff performance, identify the capacity development and improvement needs of the staff, organize capacity enhancement sessions and handle staff grievances. Ensures staff performance is monitored and aligned to the program work plan and country Annual Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities
• To coordinate the timely recruitment & on boarding process and ensure quality and safe recruitment as per guidelines
• To identify the capacity development needs of the staff through needs analysis, PMS reports and consultation from program managers and department heads.
• Support probation trucking and assessment for staff to ensure timely feedback of confirmation, extension and non-confirmation.
• To work with the respective supervisor in developing and reviewing job descriptions through a job evaluation exercise.
• Organize and coordinate capacity development trainings, workshops and refreshers for staff according to the identified gap Ensure that new recruits undergo orientation including values training in liaison with the programs, departments and the BLC team.
• Monitor, review and evaluate the progress of trainees through discussions with the first level supervisor and program manager department head
• Prepare and submit standard monthly, quarterly and annual reports and other supporting documents to the supervisor and relevant partners.
• Manage all grievances and disputes among staff in a transparent and impartial manner.
• Implementation of the BRAC vision, mission, core values and policies including an effective safeguarding policy
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do SO.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management/ Business Administration/ related field. Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource management is added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
• Previous experience working with a diverse workforce managing recruitment & performance management processes.
• Strong knowledge of the Uganda Labour laws and good HR practices especially with NGOs
• Ability to initiate and implement activities with minimal supervision, and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong leadership capabilities including organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with colleagues
• Good computer skills with MS excel, Power point & MS Word.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Report writing, facilitation and presentation skills
Experience Requirements
Two years' progressive experience in Human Resource, 3+ years' experience in a similar position in a reputable organization.
