JOB DETAILS:
The African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims ( ACTV ) is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Uganda which commenced operations in 1993 whose mandate includes advocacy against torture and provision of physical and psychological treatment and rehabilitation, social support and legal services to survivors of torture.

ACTV is seeking to recruit dynamic, energetic and result oriented individuals for the position of:

Post: Head of Finance and Administration

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Lead the development and implementation of financial: management, administration and human resource strategy, policies and procedures so as to enable ACTV achieve its organisational objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish appropriate policy framework tor financial administration and human resources functions.
• Lead the processes of financial planning, budgeting and compliance
• Develop and successfully implement a fundraising strategy, identify potential sources of funding, and ensure adequate funding is available for the sustainable operations of ACTV.
• Develop and implement a financial reporting system
• Coordinate and implement the HR strategy, policies and procedures in accordance to the relevant policies, procedures, standards and statutory requirements.
• Establish an efficient and highly reliable administrative support for the effective implementation of ACTV plans and programmes
• Supervise, and manage the finance and administration staff.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
•  A Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA,etc.) _
• Master’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration is an added advantage.

Experience
Minimum five years’ experience preferably in an NGO environment, of which three years should be at senior level.
