JOB DETAILS:
IntraHealth International ( www.intrahealth.org ) is currently seeking to recruit a candidate for USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) that supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality health services in 23 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved populations.
Health System Strengthening & Quality Improvement Cluster Lead (Bukedi Cluster-Based in Mbale, oversees 6 Districts)
The HSS & QI Cluster Lead will be responsible for a cluster of six
districts in Bukedi including the interdisciplinary staff assigned to that
cluster. He/she will be responsible for overall planning, coordination and implementation of USAID RHITES-E supported activities within the cluster. Speciically, the Cluster Lead will be required to develop annual and monthly workplans for the supported districts, ensure targeted technical support to district, facility and community level interventions. As an overall health system strengthening lead for the cluster, he/she will support districts and cluster team members to roll out quality improvement activities and improve systems to better support health service delivery and enhance collaboration within the district and the cluster. S/he will work in close collaboration with the district leadership to develop district speciic work plans and achieve the deliverables. S/he will maintain collaborative relationships with DHMT, Technical Planning Committee, the District Executive Committee, facilities and other implementing partners within Bukedi cluster to enhance the capacity of district and facility staff to carry out essential services and ensure that services adhere to Government of Uganda (GOU) and PEPFAR technical and ethical guidelines/policies. S/he in liaison with the respective cluster team members will ensure the implementation of the Project’s work plan and interventions in the focus districts while instituting sustainability measures. The position will report to the District Capacity Building and QI Team Lead.
