Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Director, Act Church of Sweden Regional Hub, the Humanitarian Program Officer will be responsible for:
- Strategic planning and delivery of humanitarian programs.
- Assessment of alerts, appeals, and proposals.
- Contract compliance management, funding applications, and donor partnerships.
Specific Duties Include:
a) Assess humanitarian alerts, appeals, and proposals.
b) Manage program implementation, follow-up, and reporting with team members.
c) Initiate and manage partnerships with organizations.
d) Ensure compliance with agreements and donor requirements.
e) Contribute to program financing with other teams.
f) Conduct partner and project assessments.
g) Represent Act Church of Sweden/Council of Sweden in meetings.
h) Administer partner collaborations per set procedures.
i) Ensure adherence to policies and Code of Conduct.
j) Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
a) Degree in a relevant field.
b) 5+ years in the humanitarian sector, with knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS).
c) Non-profit civil society experience (required).
d) Experience with faith-based/ecumenical networks (advantage).
e) ACT Alliance experience (advantage).
f) Back donor funding, proposal writing, and grants management experience (advantage).
General Requirements for All Candidates:
a) Must be eligible to work in Uganda (citizen/resident with valid work permit).
b) Ability to travel regionally (must hold a valid passport).
c) Must align with Act Church of Sweden’s values.
