JOB DETAILS:

Position Summary:
The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, and management of the Uganda Business. This role requires a visionary leader with deep experience in the mobile money, telecommunications, and financial technology sectors. The Managing Director will drive business growth, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of innovation and customer focus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and implement the company's strategic plan, aligning with the group's overall objectives.
• Identify new market opportunities and drive the expansion of mobile money services across Uganda.
• Oversee the development and execution of business plans, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Operational Management:
• Lead and manage all aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and customer service.
• Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of mobile money services, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Optimize operational processes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the company's budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Oversee financial performance, including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Regulatory and Compliance:
• Ensure that the company complies with all relevant local and international regulations and standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure that all licenses and approvals are obtained and maintained.
• Manage risk and ensure the company adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent.
• Implement training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.
Stakeholder Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, regulators, and investors.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in the media.
Innovation and Product Development:
• Drive innovation in mobile money products and services, ensuring the company remains competitive and meets evolving customer needs.
• Collaborate with the technology and product teams to develop and launch new features and services.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in business administration or any related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the mobile money, telecommunications, or financial services industries.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a business in a competitive market.
• Strong understanding of the mobile money ecosystem, digital financial services, and the regulatory environment in Uganda.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Visionary leadership with a focus on innovation and growth.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to execute operational plans effectively.
• Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of market dynamics.
• High integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
