JOB DETAILS:
The European Union (EU) and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) have commissioned the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the programme Response to Increased Demand on Government Service and Creation of Economic Opportunities in Uganda (RISE)". The main objective of the program is the improvement of the inclusive socio-economic development of refugees and the host population within six districts of Northern Uganda, namely Arua, Madi Okollo, Obongi, Terego, Adjumani and Moyo. The programme combines the support to the district local government structures, efforts to create income and employment, and the support for agricultural activities. The main partners are the Ministry of Local Government and the District Local Governments. The technical cooperation measure takes a multi-level and multi-actor approach. GIZ is recruiting an Office Attendant/Cleaner to support the implementation of the programme within the named districts of Northern Uganda

A. Key responsibilities
The Office Attendant is responsible for;
• Keeping the office premises clean and tidy
• Running errands and carrying out other tasks needed to run the
office smoothly.
The cleaner performs the following tasks:
B. Specific Tasks Office services
• Cleans the office premises, rooms, furniture, carpets and
windows
• Checks and refills supplies in all areas, including office supplies
and articles in the washrooms and WCS Sets up and prepares the conference space as instructed Supplies the offices with hot and cold beverages and other
catering services
• Provides services at meetings, e.g., serves coffee and tea for guests and visitors. Reports if stocks, e.g., of beverages or cleaning material are low, and need to be replaced.
Supports office communications and administration
•Supports office or project logistics, e.g., takes letters to the post office or hands them to courier services.
• Makes photocopies and scans documents if needed.
• Carries out minor repairs as required to keep office equipment operational.
General tasks
• Runs errands, only requested by the Administration Officer,
• Reports damage to office areas and equipment, and organizes and monitors maintenance and repair.
C. Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Qualifications
• Uganda Certificate of Education ("O" Level) or Primary school Education
Professional experience
• At least 1-3 years' work experience in a comparable position with references
Other knowledge, additional competences
• Knowledge in English is important
• Ideally knowledge of Lugbara
• Sensitivity in handling and disposing of documents which may be important Reliability and good organizational skills, appropriate appearance,
and clothing.
• Being able to approach his/her superior if problems occur.
