Job Summary
The Planning Officer is responsible for leading country-specific program design efforts while ensuring alignment with regional strategies and Raising The Village (RTV) organizational standards. This role focuses on developing impactful, scalable, and contextually relevant program designs that meet local needs while integrating technical and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Country-Specific Program Design & Development
- Lead the design and adaptation of RTV's programs to align with local community needs, national policies, and donor expectations.
- Develop evidence-based, impact-driven program models that are scalable and responsive to country-specific challenges.
- Ensure program designs incorporate gender-sensitive, inclusive, and climate-resilient approaches where relevant.
- Prepare detailed design documents, logic frameworks, and implementation guidelines for proposed interventions.
- Collaboration with Technical Leads & Cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with technical leads (e.g., Agriculture, WASH, Health, Livelihoods) to ensure best practices and programmatic standards are embedded in designs.
- Coordinate with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) teams to integrate impact measurement frameworks into program designs.
- Engage with country teams to ensure seamless transition from design to implementation, providing necessary guidance and technical input.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Adaptation
- Engage local governments, community leaders, and civil society organizations to ensure program designs reflect community priorities.
- Participate in consultative meetings and workshops to gather insights and refine program designs based on evolving needs.
- Work with grants and donor teams to ensure program proposals align with funding requirements and organizational goals.
- Scaling & Innovation
- Support the development of scalable program models, ensuring feasibility across multiple geographies within the country.
- Identify and recommend innovative solutions that enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future program iterations.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all program designs adhere to country-specific regulatory requirements and donor guidelines.
- Provide regular design progress reports to the Regional Coordinator and relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to proposal development by providing technical inputs and design recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Population Studies, or related.
- 2-3 years of experience in program design, development, or technical coordination within the development sector.
- Strong understanding of country-specific socio-economic dynamics, policy frameworks, and community engagement strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite, especially Excel, VBA, Word, and PPT.
- Experience working in sectoral areas such as Agriculture, WASH, Health, and Livelihoods.
- Ability to develop logical frameworks, impact pathways, and programmatic strategies.
- Familiarity with donor funding requirements and proposal development processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
