Back ground
World Vision Uganda (WVU) is a Christian relief, development and advocacy non-government organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work in 43 districts and have 48 Area Programmes implementing projects in health & nutrition, water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & resilience, education and child protection. World Vision (WV) is committed to the protection of children and adult beneficiaries from exploitation and abuse and will not employ people whose background is not suitable for working with these beneficiaries. Due to expansion in scope of our programmes, we are now seeking for a qualified and passionate individual willing to share in our vision and join the team in the following roles.
Position: Project Coordinator - Becoming One Project
Report to: Faith and Development Manager
Location: Kampala – National Office
Advert Start Date: 18th May 2022

Purpose of the position:
The Project Coordinator for the Becoming One Project will provide leadership and day to day management of the project to ensure proper planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and financial management among others, in line with World Vision Uganda and donor’s requirements. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the implementing partners, especially the Church of Uganda, to bring about timely completion of set targets and the attainment of quality results leading to a holistic community transformation

Key Outputs/Responsibilities.
Lead in Project Planning & Implementation in line with approved grant project proposal/budget and donor requirements:
• Support the grant project in development of project designs, annual plans, and budgets.
• Ensure timely and quality implementation of project interventions against set targets
• Ensure work plans for implementation are made and expectations met.
• Analyse trends in the piloted region and develop/align project strategy to meet needs in the other regions.
• Ensure maximum integration and synergies of the grant with APs interventions in the area of Celebrate families and COH gender.
• Liaises with, and provide updates on progress to, project stakeholders/management.
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan and manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
• Record and manage project issues, scope and change control - escalating where necessary
Capacity building:
• Effectively mentor and build capacity of project personnel (staff, volunteers and others) to effectively implement project interventions to expected standards.
• Manage project trainings within the defined budget.
• Identifying user training needs and devising and managing user training programmes
• Identify the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behaviours required for personnel to implement project interventions;
• Train ToTs selected from Anglican Dioceses to become leaders in understanding Becoming One Approach and actively pass it on to Facilitators so as strengthen couple intimacy.
• Facilitate trainings to build project personnel’s capacity in comprehending BO approach as required;
• Mentor team members through on-the-job training, guidance and support;
Networking and Coordination:
• Facilitate a collaborative environment to promote effective coordination with a range of actors to ensure that BO is effectively coordinated.
• Liaise with the COU, IPA and other partners in regard to project implementation and opportunities, leveraging their resources against WV’s to improve sustainability
• Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work.
• Actively participate in meetings and engagements organized by Project stakeholders and contribute to interagency initiatives.
• Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization’s Code of Conduct and ensure maximum visibility
• Assist in writing BO related proposals and meeting with donors on project-related engagements/visits
• Fosters effective communication internally and externally.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting on project indicators and results; continuous effort is required through ongoing monitoring, evaluation and review to ensure project resources are put to intended use and ensure set targets are met.
• Coordinate and ensure timely baseline, mid-term and end line evaluations of the project are conducted. Including supporting the development of project baselines and evaluations ToRs.
• Conduct regular monitoring, review and reflections of the project’s progress towards impact
• Provide timely and accurate monthly management, quarterly, semi/annual reports and other reports as needed or requested in line with grant standards and timelines, to line and functional supervisor.
• Monitoring project progress and performance. Monitor and guide the grant project’s implementation of design and plans, DME processes and budgets in line with agreed targets and standards.
• Manage the project information and documentation processes, and ensure effective communication of the grant project results.
• Document and disseminate project learning and best practices
• Ensure appropriate filing and availability of documentation of project information as required for internal and external communications, accountability, audits, and evaluation purposes and reporting.
• Ensure periodic reviews of grant interventions are done with key stakeholders. And contribute to information-sharing and data management systems.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
• A degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Education, Guidance& Counselling, Law or other relevant field of study. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Post Graduate Qualification in Project Planning & Management, Development Studies or Human Rights from a recognized institution is an added advantage
• At least 7 years of community development programming
• A proven experience of working in a Christian international Organization.
• Sound knowledge of Financial Management
• A sound understanding of social justice and Human Rights issues with demonstrated experience in family life.
• Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects
• Good engagement skills and ability to network with churches, key family network networks, Mothers and Fathers Unions across the country.
• Previous experience of managing a team
• Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability.
• Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers in a Christian environment.
• Experience of supervision and project management
• Ability to build capacities of personnel working with churches.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, to remain flexible to a changing environment, and to make decisions independently
• Skills and experience in Community Mobilization and engagement.
• A champion of Networking and Coordination
• Skills in leadership and management
• Computer literate
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Strong communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills
• Family life and marital Counselling
• Perform other duties as assigned
