Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced ICT Manager to work in Kampala Uganda.

Job roles and responsibilities:
The overall responsibility of the job holder is to provide the strategic direction of the ICT department. The job holder will supervise, implement, and maintain the company’s ICT needs. S/he will ensure secure and effective operations of all ICT systems, related applications, hardware, and software used within company and that supplied to the clients. In summary,
S/he should have in experience with security document systems both in the sector of printing, personalisation and the related data systems. the job holder is responsible for: planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating the acquisition, development, maintenance, and use of computer and telecommunication systems for company and its clients.
Specifically, the job holder will be responsible for:
• Managing ICT department staff and other resources allocated to the department.
• Drawing strategic direction for the department.
• Taking the lead in the development/ acquisition of all ICT software and hardware requirements for company
• Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Offering technical guidance during the selection and procurement and replacement of hardware and software for the company.
• Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.
• Generating performance reports for ICT operating systems to guide the decision-making process.
• Developing/ updating protocols and strategies for sustaining the ICT infrastructures.
• Ensuring all ICT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
• Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.
• Taking leadership in orientating staff on the application and utilization of the ICT equipment.
• Evaluating the viability of proposed projects
• Conducting regular system audits
• Developing systems tailored to the needs of an organization
• Running regular checks on network and data security
• Directs technological research by studying organization goals, practices, strategies, and user projects
• Motivating and maintaining departmental staff to contribute to company’s goals and objectives.
• Carry out any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor

Key Academic qualification:
The job requires the following academic qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology/ Systems, or any other relevant field from a recognized University.
• Certification from any relevant professional bodies is a MUST.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
• Other relevant technical skills:
• Basic scripting, programming, and coding
• PC and Mac systems and other mobile operating systems
• Knowledge-based systems (KBS)
• Java
• C, C++, JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Linux/Unix
• Microsoft SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• NoSQL databases
• Remote software
• Cyber security

Working experience and other relevant skills
The job requires practical working and relevant experience of at least 7 years, 3 of which, should have been at a supervisory level, in a reputable organization, preferably in the printing IT/ printing industry. Besides this the job holder should have the following skills:

• Good prioritization skills and be flexible to adapt plans
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Demonstrable understanding of complex information and requirements especially in the secure document handling environment
• Ability to explain complex information and technologies in simple terms
