dfcu Bank is a fast-growing Bank in Uganda offering a wide range of financial solutions to its chosen market segments. We are seeking to recruit for the position of Relationship Manager- Infrastructure & Energy in the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Domain to support our expansion strategy.
REPORTING TO: Sector Head- Infrastructure & Energy
JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Sector Head- Infrastructure & Energy, the role holder will be responsible for managing Corporate relationships within business segments through origination in line with targets and expectations. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for offering the best customer experience to the assigned clientele to ensure retention and growth of business through deeper understanding of the clients’ business and operations to enable the bank to grow its share of wallet by meeting the clients’ business needs. The Relationship Manager – Infrastructure & Energy will work closely with product houses, Corporate and Institutional Banking and Retail to ensure that they get maximum value from all the relationships.
LOCATION: Kampala
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Manage key client relationships in the sector to meet their demands and meet sector growth targets.
• Develop a sector wide product paper and monitor compliance by the bank.
• Develop and monitor key work plans for the sector.
• Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation schedule for the clients in the portfolio.
• Carry out regular on-site inspections involving checking all relevant documentation, including drawings and written instructions.
• Review contracts, budget, and operational health and safety (OHS) requirements.
• Develop and enforce monitoring / control procedures.
• Enforce the agreed monitoring and evaluation schedules to manage the asset portfolio to minimize loss and maximize returns.
• Training and development of the teams to ensure in-depth understanding of the sector.
• Manage credit risk with the portfolio to ensure the sector performance remains within agreed parameters.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• A University Degree in Civil Engineering or any other related fields.
• Advanced Leadership training and/ or an MBA will be preferred.
• Training in Project Management and Evaluation.
• Three (3) years’ experience in contract negotiation, bidding, and awarding process or in a similar position in Infrastructure and Energy sector.
• Three (3) years’ experience in Monitoring and Evaluation in Infrastructure and Energy.
• Demonstrated Leadership skills and People management skills.
• Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of how the role contributes to business success.
• Knowledge of bank products and services.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Good understanding of risk management and mitigation techniques.
