On behalf of our Client in the Extractives sector, we are looking for competent individuals to fill the following position:
Reporting to: Social Affairs Coordinator
Entity: Social Affairs Department
Location: Kampala
Activities The job holder will be responsible for the following tasks;
• To implement the appropriate engagement strategy, based on a detailed SH mapping and in accordance with the topic and level of audience in the regularly updated Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
• To organize workshops/conferences/meetings/talk shows at different levels around specific topics or as part of a general update.
• To work collectively with partners to develop and implement engagements in the Tilenga Project area based on agreed principles.
• To maintain a track record of all stakeholder engagements and follow-up on commitments using; the databases, contacts, engagements, issues, concerns, grievances etc.
• To ensure reports with follow up actions are created and shared with relevant stakeholders including authorities through the Business Development department after every engagement.
To guarantee all stakeholders are given the opportunity to give their feedback through the engagement process and adjust the strategy accordingly.
• To validate and track reports on monitoring and evaluations, compiled feedback and the necessary follow ups undertaken by relevant stakeholders.
• To supervise the creation and circulation of communication about Total and its activities, including alternative communication methods that include specific stakeholders (e.g. tourism stakeholders, local communities).
• To manage stock of communication strategies and when required create and develop appropriate ones.
• The job holder will coach and advise Community Tourism Liaison Officers (CLO’s) on appropriate communication techniques and tools applied towards communities, tourism stakeholders and other local stakeholders.
• The Job Holder works closely with relevant Community based organizations (CSOs/NGOs) supporting and advising Total in its stakeholder engagement strategy.
• To guarantee all requirements related to national regulations, international best practice and Total Referential are adhered to.
Qualifications And Required Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Human Resources Management or related field.
• 10-15 years Professional experience working in the Stakeholder Engagement function especially with rural communities in Uganda, preferably within the Albertine area and/or with the tourism industry;
• Professional experience in liaising with any level of stakeholder (from Government to local community);
• Good strategic development and implementation skills;
