Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. [KCL) is a member of the Vol café group, the coffee division of ED&F Man. It is the oldest and one of the largest coffee exporters in Uganda and the first to become ISO 9001:2008 certified. We buy Arabica and Robusta in all coffee producing regions and export about 15% of Uganda's coffee production to over 30 consuming countries around the world. The company heavily invests in Uganda's coffee infrastructure and people. Our quality-oriented business strategy aims to lift the entire coffee sector and improve the quality perception of Ugandan Arabica and Robusta around the globe.
To ensure we can deliver on our service level to our global network, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our team in the following positions.

Job Title: Standard Quality Controller
Duty Station: Kasese
Reports to: Quality Sourcing Coordinator
The Standard Quality Controller will ensure that all production samples, export/ loading samples, PSS and Type samples are analyzed using the Quality Analysis Forms.
He/She will liaise with the Quality Sourcing Coordinator in preparation and sending of Pre-shipment samples of all the sales as per the loading plan or Type and Offer samples for the sales to be made.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• The Standard Quality Controller will be responsible to directly participate in physical and sensory evaluation of the daily production/ export coffees and PSS / Type samples.
• It will be your responsibility to keep an updated register of findings on all coffee samples analyzed in the Quality Analysis Forms.
• It will be your responsibility to guarantee that Coffee to be processed or re-passed meets specified company requirements.
• You must follow the Production Planning, Scheduling & Processing Procedure always. Any uncertain situations that you have while processing or re-passing must be brought to your superior's attention immediately.
• All equipment and controlling tools used within your line of work must always be handled with care as per the manufacturer and companies' instructions.
• Any device damaged must be taken to your superior damaged through your negligence. May have its repair or replacement costs charged to your personnel account.
• It will be your responsibility to keep the sample room tidy, neat and well arranged for easy access and retrieval of reference coffee samples.
• He/She will perform any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor and Management

Required Qualifications, Experiences and Competencies
• Educated to Degree level.
• UCDA certification License.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Keen attention to detail.
• Teamwork and collaboration. Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
