THE AIDS SUPPORT ORGANIZATION (TASO UGANDA) EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
VA NO.TASO-2020-HR/04 NOTICE TO ALL POTENTIAL RESPONDENTS/APPLICANTS.
Overview The AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda), is an Organization contributing to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality of life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and disease. TASO Is Implementing various projects funded by the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Global Fund to support the Government of Uganda accelerate epidemic control and the attainment of the UNAIDS 95 95 95 goals. TASO requires the services of dedicated, competent, innovative and result-oriented individuals for employment on a contract basis for the posts below:
Job Title - REF: TS/HR/ PMGT 06 : Research Manager (01)
Classification: Contact Full time
Reports To: Director Program Management and Capacity Development
Salary: Commensurate with training and experience
Dusty Station: TASO Headquarters
Directly Supervises: Research Officer, Research Grants Administration Officer, REC Administrator and Study Coordinators
• To manage, coordinate and harmonize TASO Uganda research Projects. He/she will take lead in research grants writing, resource mobilization for the institutional research function and ensure implementation of activities in accordance with the National and International research standards and policies.
Job Skills: Not Specified
• A minimum of 5 years' experience working in public health research project Implementation. Ha/she should have been or is currently a Principle Investigator or Co-Investigator on at least one grant in the last 5 years, with at least 5 publications in a poorly reviewed journal and at least 3 years of management.
Job Education Requirements:
• Masters' degree In Public health, or any other medical, health sciences discipline. A PhD in a related field is an added advantage.
• Additional Training Necessary: Project management or clinical trial management and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
