JOB DETAILS:
Job description
• Ensuring timely submission of relevant documents and delivery of all cargo for export shipment processing.
• Lodging of shipments with customs and OGA for release and subsequent handover.
• Following up with customs and OGA to finalise verifications where applicable and obtain release and handover of cargo.
• Monitor all export cargo shipments to ensure correct temperature settings, compliance with dangerous goods regulations etc. prior to release and hand over.
• Take charge of communication and report on daily occurrences, advise on new field regulations/ requirements in relation to export operations.
• Follow up on any queries arising before and after the export or import process.
• Manage and ensure proper and accurate reconciliation of export related charges, correct payment allocations and timely payment of invoices.
• Closely coordinate the activities of shippers, customers and third party suppliers etc. to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Manage the K+N assets positioned at yards ensuring that a proper inventory is kept.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and sea logistics resources for both export and import business to maximize on use.
• Act as the main liaison between K+N sea export logistics customers, suppliers and Kuehne+ Nagel at Kampala.
• Source for potential suppliers and look out for new business opportunities to expand our operations .
• Any other duties within the scope of your job as may be assigned by your departmental manager from time to time.
• Coordinate cross border shipment operations at the Malaba border to ensure seamless entry and exit devoid of delays.
