PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide academic leadership and knowledge in the relevant discipline and lead the development and implementation of research and publications.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. PhD in Physiotherapy
2. A Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
3. An honors Bachelor’s degree in either Physiotherapy or related field.
4. Should have conducted research as a Senior Lecturer in the relevant discipline, published and had at least Seven (7) years of teaching in a recognized institution of higher learning.
5. Should have demonstrated academic excellence and had Three (3) new publications in the area of specialization since promotion to the track of Senior Lecturer.
6. Should have supervised at least three (3) graduate students to completion since last promotion.
7. Should have a good track record of service to the public.
8. Registration with the Uganda Allied Health Professional Council with a valid practicing license.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares and delivers lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
2. Conducts research and disseminates research findings.
3. Promotes knowledge transfer of his/her subject through original work.
4. Guides and supervises students doing research.
5. Conducts seminars.
6. Sets and marks tests, examinations and course work.
7. Guides and advises students on their performance.

KEY OUTPUTS
1. Lectures prepared and delivered.
2. Research conducted and research findings disseminated.
3. Knowledge of his/her subject promoted through original work.
4. Students doing research supervised.
5. Seminars conducted.
6. Tests, examinations and course work set and scripts marked. .
7. Students guided and advised on their performance.
