JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview:
The Evaluation Expert, who will also serve as the Team Leader for this assignment, will spearhead the development, implementation, and delivery of all mission deliverables and ensure the overall quality of the evaluation.

Level of Effort Expectations:

This position is expected to have an LOE of 60 days.

Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership for the team.
• Coordinate evaluation activities, assign tasks to team members, and provide overall supervision of their performance.
• Consolidate individual input from team members and coordinate the process of assembling the final findings and recommendations into a high-quality document/report.
• Review all outputs and be responsible for submitting quality products to USAID on a timely basis.
• Communicate updates to USAID through ULA on evaluation progress, including arranging periodic update meetings.
• Lead the design of data collection tools, data collection, and synthesis.
• Prepare and participate in presentations.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Evaluation and Applied Research or in a field related to at least one of the four areas: Forestry and Biodiversity, Conservation Enterprises and Livelihoods, Combatting Wildlife Crime, and/or Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building.
• Demonstrable experience in at least two of the four areas mentioned above.
• Experience in designing, managing, and executing a minimum of seven evaluations or studies, preferably in any of the four areas mentioned above.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in conducting evaluations or studies in East Africa, preferably in Uganda.
• Must have demonstrable skills and experience in the use of quantitative and qualitative methods and expertise in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
• 10 years demonstrated experience producing high-quality reports for evaluations or applied research studies of complex, multi-sector activities.
