JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
Through your leadership and technical expertise, you will make an important contribution to Imprint Hope’s work to serve children with disabilities and their families. You will have primary responsibility to lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of high-quality evidence-based psych-social support interventions within Imprint Hope programs, including providing clinical counselling directly with Imprint Hope beneficiary caregivers. You will work collaboratively within IH’s multi-disciplinary team, contributing leadership and technical expertise to ensure responsive and impactful holistic interventions for each beneficiary family. Imprint Hope commits itself to implement evidence-based programming which contributes to Integral Human Development (aligned to the ecological model), and prioritizes the safety and dignity of all program participants. You will contribute to the development of Imprint Hope’s program model and associated frameworks and procedures, and will support the senior management team on staff well-being initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
Provide Clinical Counselling

• Provide clinical counseling as appropriate to beneficiary caregivers during 7 week residential training program; ensure compliance with applicable laws, clinical standards, best practices.
• Ensure appropriate record keeping and confidentiality.
• Provide assessments and consultations through field visits as needed
• Lead Psycho-Social Program Components
• Ensure all Psycho-Social interventions across IH programs are contextually-appropriate; evidence-based; trauma-sensitive/trauma-aware; and strongly aligned to IH overall program model, key values, and results framework.
• Lead development and implementation of life-skills and personal development components of 7-week residential program,
• Lead development and implementation of trauma-awareness education/sensitization program for caregivers within 7-week residential training program
• Lead development and implementation of community-based Support Groups for IH caregivers who graduate from 7-week residential training program –applying a pilot and adapt approach
• Ensure implementation of effective monitoring and evaluation system for Psycho-Social program components, to ensure not only effectiveness of interventions but also safety and dignity (do no harm) of all program participants
• Contribute to Implementation of Holistic Program Interventions by program team
• Contribute to development, implementation, review and adaptative management of holistic individualized case management for each family
• Train staff on psycho-social support approaches; e.g. psychological first aid
• Build staff understanding of key topics – e.g. trauma, psycho-social support
• Provide technical oversight for other staff on Psycho-Social -related aspects of their work (e.g. social workers and medical)
• Ensure effective implementation of appropriate referrals for specialized care related to mental health or psych-social well-being

Contribute to Development of Imprint Hope Program Model
• Contribute to development of program design, results framework, quality benchmarks, and monitoring and evaluation system.
• Contribute to development and implementation of key procedures and tools to strengthen program quality

Contribute to Ensuring Staff Well-Being
• Lead staff well-being initiatives in close consultation with the Senior Management team;
• Train and coach staff on topics such as trauma awareness, self-care skills, resilience,
• boundaries, etc.
• Provide counselling to staff and/or volunteers as deemed appropriate by the Senior Management Team.

Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice therapeutic mental health interventions
• Bachelor-equivalent degree in Clinical Psychology or other relevant degree.
• Master’s Degree is a plus.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a licensed and practicing counsellor/psychologist.
• Experience in a development project or community setting is a plus
• Experience focused on children and families is a plus
• Experience with rural or highly vulnerable populations is a plus
• Fluent English and Luganda speaker
• Basic Computer Skills – typing, email, Microsoft Word and Excel,
• Basic English-writing skills (ability to write basic sentences and paragraphs for emails, reports etc)
• Supervisory Experience (direct supervision of multiple labor-level employees) is a plus
• Program Management, Project design, Monitoring and Evaluation experience is a plus
• Experience with operations of an NGO is a plus
• Experience working with or knowledge about persons with disabilities is a plus
