PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To teach, supervise, promote research studies and disseminate research findings.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. A Master’s degree in Midwifery and Women’s Health or paediatric Nursing or related clinical specialty.
2. An Honours Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science or Bachelor of Midwifery Science from a recognized/accredited institution.
3. A PhD in Nursing or Midwifery Education or Doctorate in nursing practice is an added advantage.
4. Should have at least two (2) years teaching experience with proven pedagogical skills.
5. Have at least two (2) peer reviewed publications. .
6. A good record of community and academic service.
7. Registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council with an up-todate Practicing License.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare and conduct lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
2. Participate in clinical teaching.
3. Conduct research and disseminate research findings.
4. Conduct skills instruction in the skills laboratory
5. Supervise students undertaking research.
6. Conduct seminars.
7. Set tests, examinations and course work.
8. Administer and invigilate tests, course works and examinations.
9. Mark tests and examinations scripts and compile results.
10. Attend to students’ inquiries and academic issues.
11. Participate in Community engagement.

Key Outputs
1. Lecture plans prepared and Lectures delivered according to the time table.
2. Clinical teaching conducted.
3. Research proposals prepared and approved.
4. Research conducted and research findings disseminated/published.
5. Students undertaking research supervised.
6. Seminars conducted.
7. Tests, examinations and course work set, marked and results compiled.
8. Community engagement undertaken.
