JOB DETAILS:
• Reports to: Director Industrial Parks & Land Development Directly Supervises: Planner, Surveyor and Park Managers
• Job Summary: The Deputy Director land development and Administration is responsible for ensuring that planning for the acquisition, development, maintenance and administration of the Authority's industrial parks across the country is properly and professionally carried out.
• Specific Responsibilities:
• Advising the Director about trends, issues, problems and activities in the development and management of industrial parks in order to facilitate strategic decision making.
• Ensuring that UIA land for industrial parks development is duly surveyed and title deeds thereof obtained.
• Coordinating with colleagues in the Engineering Services division to ensure proper planning for infrastructure development.
• Putting in place adequate administrative rules and procedures for the smooth functioning of the industrial parks including attending to any land related disputes that may arise within the establishment of the industrial parks.
• Maintaining a clear database of all UIA lands and ensuring that they are adequately protected against any encroachment and threats. 6.Ensuring the security of persons and property in the industrial parks.
• Liaising with central and local government authorities, as well as other departments in the Authority to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and other corporate obligations associated with the industrial parks.
• Building competent, highly motivated and performing work teams
• Participating in strategy formulation and implementation
• Supporting the Director to mobilize funds t enable construction of needed infrastructure.
• Directing, supervising, developing and mentoring staff
• Participating in appraisal of departmental staff
• Preparing periodic performance reports
• Strong team building, communication and interpersonal relations skills
• Proven integrity and wise judgment
Key Results Areas:
• Period reports on Investment input
• industrial parks well maintained, secured and providing a conducive, ambience for investors, staff and other stakeholders
• •New sites acquired for industrial park infrastructure development. and/or investment as need arises
• Resources to support planned activities secured
• Performance reports prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
