The Manager Strategy shall be in charge of researching market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and building strategic relationships with potential partners. Their key roles shall include excellent communication skills and analytical abilities to enable them to understand organisational needs, provide customer insights, and present high-value partnership proposals.
o Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of all SWRW projects to ensure alignment with institutional strategy, vision, road safety goals and donor expectations.
o Develop and monitor project implementation plans, timelines, and budgets and monitor and ensure quality assurance.
o Ensure effective coordination among project teams, stakeholders, technical advisors, partners and communities.
o Identify and manage risks, challenges, and bottlenecks in project delivery and manage change during project delivery.
o Identify and pursue new funding opportunities through donor mapping, alignment, proposal development, and partnership building.
o Lead the preparation of concept notes, grant applications, and technical proposals for institutional donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
o Maintain strong, positive relationships with existing donors and partners, ensuring regular engagement and reporting.
o Contribute to the development and review of SWRW’s strategic plan with a focus on expanding project reach and financial sustainability while addressing the SDGS.
o Identify emerging trends in road safety and urban transport to inform new initiatives and programming directions.
o Explore innovative partnerships, including public-private collaborations and multi-sectoral consortia.
o Supervise and mentor project officers and business development staff.
o Foster a collaborative team culture that emphasizes learning, innovation, and accountability throughout the institution.
o Support staff in building skills in project design, proposal writing, donor compliance, and performance reporting.
o Ensure that all projects are implemented according to organizational standards, donor requirements, and national policies.
o Coordinate with the MEAL team to track project performance and outcomes, and integrate learning into future programming.
o Oversee the preparation and submission of high-quality project reports, updates, and communication materials.
o Represent SWRW in national and international forums, road safety networks, and donor engagement platforms.
o Advocate for road safety funding, policy reform, and inclusive infrastructure at government and stakeholder events.
o Build SWRW’s visibility and credibility through networking, speaking engagements, and partnership cultivation.
Key Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, Transport Planning, Urban Development or a related field.
• Business Administration (MBA)
• PMP certification is a must
