Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Agricultural Inspector Phytosanitary for performing the following duties:-
• Inspecting and certifying compliance of the plant and plant products to laws and regulations;
• Inspecting plant and plant products moving in international trade;
• Carrying out interceptions / destruction and re-exportation of prohibited / rejected plants and plant products;
• Performing preliminary pest and disease detection and pest exclusion at entry/ exit or inspection point and enforcing quarantines;
• Inspecting and verifying seed and agricultural chemicals imports;
• Issuing phytosanitary certificates;
• Inspecting plants during active growth, plant nurseries and plant products destined for export;
• Carrying out surveillance / monitoring of quarantine pests at entry / exit points and along the border;
• Supervising prescribed phytosanitary treatments;
• Collaborating with other agencies at entry points (Customs, UNBS, Police, Civil Aviation);
• Carrying out internal and open quarantine;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

• Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from a recognized University / Institution
