Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement fisheries laws, policies, and regulations at the district level.
  • Conduct monitoring and inspection of fishing activities to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to fishermen and fish farmers.

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of fisheries data for planning and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A Diploma in Fisheries Management, Aquaculture, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of local fisheries policies and environmental conservation.
  • Age requirement: 24 – 45 years.

  • Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant posts in Buvuma district Local Government. Applications should be submitted in triplicate and a PSF form no 3 revised (2008) should be used and fully signed by the applicant. It should be addressed to the secretary, District Service commission, Box 103 Lugazi or delivered at Buvuma District headquarters, office of the secretary DSC not later than 28th/04/2025. The application forms can be obtained from all District Service Commissions countrywide, Public Service Commission and Health Service Commission, EDUCATION SERVICE COMMISSION or on Public Service website on www.publicservice.go.ug
  • Applicants should attach certified copies of academic/professional documents, valid practicing license where applicable, registration certificates, 3 recent passport photos and a photo copy of national ID, Certification should be from 2023 to date. Applicants should be between the age of 24 – 45 years. The job descriptions and specifications of each post can be obtained from any of the service commission offices countrywide or www.publicservice.go.ug or www.hsc.go.ug. Only successful applicants will be contacted after the selection exercise. Those who shall not hear from the secretary should consider themselves unsuccessful.
