JOB DETAILS:
Position: Clinical Officer (2 Posts)
Qualifications and abilities:
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or Diploma in Clinical
• A minimum of 2 year’s work experience in a clinical setting.
• Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Previous training in epilepsy care or management is an added advantage.
• Good demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior research experience in epilepsy or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Fluency in three or more local languages will be an added advantage.
• Flexibility to travel and reside in various districts all over Uganda over a two-year period.
• Expected to live in a nearby location next to the respective study clinics set up in various districts all over Uganda.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to the Project Coordinator.
• Carrying out diagnostic assessment on study participants to resolve whether their symptoms and physical exams meet the criteria for epilepsy and/or other associated comorbidities.
• Ensuring that all clinical assessments related to the study is followed as per the protocol.
• Ensuring that all the required data for the study is collected on the respective case report forms filled and filed.
• Assess and provide medical care for any acute health problems of the study participants.
• Prescribe anti-seizure medications to the study participants diagnosed with epilepsy.
• Compile and submit weekly reports to the Project Coordinator.
• Compliment the efforts of other members on the field study team.
• Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Principal Investigator

Duty Station:
Respective study clinics set up in various districts all over Uganda.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: Associate Degree
