BACKGROUND
The mission of the infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to build capacity of health systems in Africa with strong emphasis on infectious diseases through research, and capacity development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training; Research; Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University-John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
The IDI Grants Management Unit (GMU) is located within the Strategic Planning and Development department; it has primary responsibility for supporting the management of the entire grants/contracts cycle from opportunity identification and grants/contract acquisition to post-award management and reporting through to close-out. It currently supports over 80 awards/sub-awards to IDI. IDI is recruiting the following positi0ns to support the Unit:

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The GM will primarily support management of active grants including communication with IDI management and multiple grant stakeholders (including sub-grantees) as well as supporting programmatic and financial monitoring and reporting for funded activities and programs. S/he will be the first point of reference for all financial and administrative issues related to specific grants.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors’ degree in any relevant field, including but not limited to finance, accounting! audit and business management; Master's degree and/or professional qualification would be added advantages.

IDI also has over 30 sub-awards currently issued to a variety of other entities including NGOs, CBOs and local governments. IDI anticipates a significant rise in the number, value and complexity of its sub-awards so it is creating a dedicated Sub-grants management section for which it is recruiting the following full-time position:
