EJA 06 /2018: Maintenance Electronics Technician – 02 POSITIONS
REPORTS TO: Electrical Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE:
Maintains availability, reliability and maintainability of machinery and electronic equipment and system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Design and document minor electronics and cable assemblies.
• Perform scheduled predictive and preventive maintenance task on a variety of electronic equipment, and control panels
• Inspect and test electronic equipment, components and assemblies
• Diagnose sources of problems by and performs root cause analysis for all the faults identified, and carryout repair/replacement/modification of components and systems.
• Utilize various electronic test equipment, such as meters, and power supplies.
• Perform soldering and electronic circuit repairs
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies to the component level.
• Develop and document test processes for electronic equipment
• Test run repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
• Advises on the type and specifications of new tools required.
•  Prepares specification for equipment, components/spare parts and sub-assemblies to be procured
• Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports
• Prepares monthly and situational specific reports
• Performs any other job assigned

THE PERSON
In order to be considered for this position, the applicant must have at least three years’ experience in the related field, preferably in a utility and should possess the following:

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION/TRAINING
1) Qualifications
Ordinary Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized technical institute

2) Experience

• Three years’ working experience in the related field, preferably in a utility
• Age Limit: Below 35 years of age.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• Possesses a high level of initiative, commitment to work, ability to meet tight deadlines, excellent communication and inter personal skills
• Be good player, highly motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision
• Be able to work independently, produce results and meet set targets
• Be able to demonstrate high levels of customer care
• Be willing to work in any designated operational Area in Uganda
• Should not have any criminal record
