JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Water Engineer, he will perform water engineering project work at field level in conformance with acceptable procedures in the refugee settlements, approved civil engineering methods and professional techniques. This will not be limited to repair and maintenance of all water infrastructures
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure that water, sanitation and hygiene projects, programs, and awareness are implemented effectively, professionally and in accordance with the UNHCR guidelines and practices of the population.
• To carry out general plumbing works
• To implement sanitation activites (including water chain management)
• To ensure distribution of clean water to recipient households
• To sensitize the community on basic sanitation and hygiene practices
• To ensure other sources of water such as shallow wels and boreholes are well maintained and repaired serviced
• Ensure water sources are clean
• To prepare budget estimates for implementation construction and rehabilitation of water and sanitation facilities
• Any other activity assigned
• To perform any other duties assigned by the sree Field Extension Coordinator from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• The applicant must hold at least an Ordinary Diploma in either, Water Engineering or Civil Engineering or any closely related field Must possess at least 2 years of post-qualification experience
• The ideal candidate is a dedicated team-player with strong interpersonal scla
• Applicants must have competitive experience in community development and mobilization, as well as experience working with international stakeholders. The candidate must demonstrate a proven passion for working with the community and possess strong detail orientation and problem-solving skill
• Technologically oriented with excellent computer skills, including proficiency in email and Microsoft Office software Driver's license
• Ability to commit to flexible working hours Live and speak local languages)
• High proficiency in English; both written and spoken
