JOB DETAILS:
Sebei Diocese Community Development and Empowerment (SD-CODE) received funding from DGF to undertake activities that are focused on mobilizing citizens and enabling them to air their voices to attract the attention of decision and policy levels. SD-CODE wishes to invite suitably qualified individuals, wishes to invite suitably qualified individuals, with qualifications and experience to apply for the position of project officer and project accountant (3 posts). This is a three-year employment opportunity with possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funds.

The project accountant position entails support to the Finance Manager in operating a strong financial control environment in the organization. Key duties/responsibilities are: Petty cash management, Prepare Journal Vouchers for receipt, participate in preparation and consolidation of plans, budgets, reports and monitor their implementation, Capture payments receipts and staff accountabilities in the accounting system, update physical asset and inventory register, any other duties as may be assigned.

Experience and qualifications The ideal candidate for this position should hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration-accounting option from a recognized institution. Additional professional qualifications in Accountancy e.g. CPA, ACCA, is desirable. Other requirements are: Familiarity with accounting software particularly Tally, Experience in managing finances for large budgets of donor funded projects including the reviewing and preparation of financial reports, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Be conversant with local dialect (Kiswahili and Kupsabiny), Strong work ethic, high level of reliability, confidentiality and honesty, Computer literacy,’ proficient with l\/l/S word, Excel, and financial applications, Good Command of English language
