JOB DETAILS:
National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organization in the Water sector in Uganda with a Vision “To be the Leading Customer Service Oriented Utility in the World” invites applicants with proven integrity and initiative, result oriented, excellent customer care and able to work in the field to fill the following positions;

EJA: 01/2021: Engineer - (No. 35) Positions

Department: Engineering

Key Result Areas.

(a) Ensures reliable water supply and distribution of water to NWSC customers.
(b) Ensures that all unreported and hidden leakages in the network are discovered and repaired.
(c) Monitor workmanship and accountability of funds for new connection trenching, proper use and accountability of materials, verification of capital works, assets renewal and replacement,
(d) Coordinates and monitors the activities of leak repairs on the network in order to minimize water losses.
(e) Ensures that customer complaints of technical nature are attended to within hours and to the customer’s satisfaction.
(f) Monitors the water pressures and recommends necessary actions.
(g) Investigates all malpractices on water network and ensures that all water connection conform to the procedures and standard laid down.
(h) Prepares relevant reports on routine basis regarding network activities, plans and manages the performance and development of staff under his/her supervision so as to improve their productivity.
(i) Any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time.

Required qualifications, experience and skills.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Engineering or any other relevant discipline from a recognized University.
• Computer knowledge.
• At least one (1) year relevant working experience.

Job requirements and Personal attributes

• This is a field based job and the applicant will be required to move extensively in the field.
• Must be able to work for long hours in the field and can be called upon at anytime and at odd hours to respond to field tasks.
• Must be able to ride a motorcycle in the field • Should be flexible and a team player.

Age limit: Below 30 years

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12
