JOB DETAILS:
Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) is a Statutory Body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide for the control and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.

The Authority seeks to recruit competent and well-motivated Ugandans to fill the following vacant position of WEATHER OBSERVER (6)

The positions are contractual, subject to renewal upon satisfactory performance and Rationalization of Government Agencies

DIRECTORATE OF STATION NETWORKS AND OBSERVATIONS
JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION FOR THE POSITION OF WEATHER OBSERVER
Job Title: Weather Observer (6 Positions)
Sablary Scale: A7b
Rebports to: Senior Weather Observer
Agbe: 23-55 Years

JOB PURPOSE
To support planning, coordination and implementation of decisions on procurement of equipment and instruments for calibration systems and enforcement of safety and security of instruments/equipment at the station

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Mane me were data to the relevant intervals:
• Transmit data logy, data and tabulating it for keying into the database.
• Sort climate data and digitize it;
• Making weather observations every half-hour;
• Entering the observed data into the weather registers.
• Responsible for plotting the weather data on various technical charts.

Qualifications
• Diploma in Meteorology/MO Class II or Diploma in Agro Meteorology.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: Associate Degree
