JOB DETAILS:
An international company has established a modern commercial pig farm in Uganda, including a breeding herd of 400 sows and a growing unit to produce up to 10,000 pigs per year for slaughter. We are looking for experienced and energetic staff to be involved in the business from the development of the farm to routes to market. We are recruiting for one position:- .

The Abattoir Manager will be operating a new state-of-art for a new facility in Mukono District. The abattoir will process at least 200 pigs per week / 10,000 pigs per year. It will operate to HACCP/ISO22000 standards.

More than any experience in abattoir operations, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm, the capacity to lead and manage a team, demand high standards of staff, the ability to control costs and have a microscopic eye for detail!
Strong literacy, numeracy and computer skills are a prerequisite.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a graduate perhaps in veterinary /animal /food science but graduates in other fields may apply. Some prior strong relevant/related work experience is necessary.

The successful candidate will travel to South Africa to be trained in abattoir operations management.
