For our sister company in Uganda, 'Resiliencia Uganda,' we seek an experienced and enthusiastic sales coordinator to promote Solar Powered Irrigation Solutions in peri-urban Kampala.
Job Purpose
The Sales Coordinator will support the coordination, execution, and tracking of sales activities under the SPIS pilot project, focused on households, farmers and micro-enterprises. This role requires a hands-on approach to field engagement, agent network management, customer follow-up, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Pipeline Coordination
● Coordinate weekly field demonstrations with farmer groups, churches, and shops
● Manage local influencer engagement (e.g. plumbers, well diggers, LC1s, agri-dealers)
● Monitor and update the sales funnel: from lead generation to quotation and sale
● Input and track leads via Google Forms and CRM
2. Sales Agent & Commission Network Oversight
● Recruit, onboard, and supervise local sales agents and commission partners
● Facilitate training on sales pitch, technical features, and pricing model
● Ensure proper use of marketing materials (banners, flyers, demo kits)
3. Customer Engagement & Payment Follow-up
● Support cash and instalment payment flows
● Follow up on quotations, payment collection, and installation scheduling
4. Marketing Support
● Coordinate radio ad placements and monitor reach
● Coordinate and implement field demonstration
● Assist in launching and managing social media channels
● Work with media partners and influencers to push messaging
5. Field Support & Data Reporting
● Schedule and track site surveys, installations, and after-sales visits
● Maintain customer WhatsApp group and escalate support issues
● Document site conditions, customer feedback, and service needs
● Submit weekly reports on KPIs (leads, conversions, sales agent activity)
Required Qualifications
● Degree in Business, Marketing, Water management and Irrigation, Agricultural mechanisation or related field
● 5 years in sales coordination, especially in irrigation, solar, agri-tech, or hardware sales
● Experience in managing agent networks and household & farmer customer engagement
Skills & Attributes
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage confidently with farmers, head of households, agents, and local leaders in both group and one-on-one settings
● Customer-oriented mindset, with a focus on building trust, managing expectations, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and installation journey
● Organized, proactive, and data-oriented, with strong follow-up and time management
● Comfortable using Google Forms, Excel, WhatsApp, and other digital tools for sales tracking and coordination
● Fluency in English and Luganda (or other local languages)
● Motorcycle riding ability is an added advantage
Contract Terms
● Start Date: As soon as possible
● Contract Length: 6-month probation, extendable to 1-year contract
● Compensation: Monthly fixed pay + field facilitation allowance
● Travel: 80% field-based (within the pilot zone)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be evaluated based on the following focus areas. Specific monthly targets will be agreed upon during onboarding:
● Number of demos executed and supported
● Lead generation and sales conversion
● Recruitment and coordination of agent/commission partner network
● Weekly field activity planning and timely reporting
