Kagando Hospital, under the umbrella of Kagando Rural Development Centre (KARUDEC) is seeking a replacement Administrator.

KARUDEC is a Church of Uganda owned, Christian institution and is committed to upholding a strong Christian witness in all its activities. The Administrator must be a committed Christian with broad experience in administration, and with project administration skills and practical abilities.

This is a senior position at Executive level, with oversight of four broad areas of responsibility — hospital administration, project administration, facilities management and hospitality. It involves membership of the management team and responsibility for staff management.

The role is challenging and calls for someone who is able to lead by example and cope well with variable levels of skill among workers under his/her control. He or she must be enthusiastic with good communication skills and the ability to be flexible and adapt to the role. Financial and budgetary knowledge is an advantage.

Kagando Hospital is at the heart of Kagando Rural Development Centre which also incorporates the Kagando School of Nursing, Midwifery, Laboratory and Theatre Technology, the Primary and Nursery Schools, the hospital Farm, and the wide range of Community Outreach Projects. These include a Gravity Feed Water scheme, based largely on protected springs which KARUDEC initiated and partly maintains. This serves up to a quarter of a million people in the community

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the appropriate experience gained over at least 10 years’ work in a similar or allied field. To be computer literate and able to touch type, work with spreadsheets, and produce reports and data is a basic criteria. The minimum qualification for the role is a Bachelor’s degree.
