JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary:

The Agricultural Officer will lead the establishment and supervision of demonstration gardens, provide training on backyard gardening, and support nutrition-focused agricultural initiatives in partner schools and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain demonstration gardens in Nurture Africa partner schools.
• Train beneficiaries on backyard gardening techniques to improve nutrition.
• Monitor and report on the progress of all demonstration gardens.
• Support the setup of greenhouses and train communities in sustainable gardening.
• Conduct training for Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) on gardening and business models.
• Develop and distribute educational materials on backyard gardening.

Requirements:

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in:
  • Backyard gardening
  • Livelihood programs
  • VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Association) models
• Formal training in nutrition (certificate or related qualification).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: bachelor degree
