In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In November 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. In 2019, we expanded to Cote d'Ivoire. Now, we have millions of users and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent. And that's where you come in....
How you'll help us achieve it
We're looking for a BTL officer who's creative, resourceful, and has experience coordinating large-scale below-the-line marketing strategies. You'll help coordinate the day-to-day operations of our BTL marketing activities and mobile money branding as we rapidly scale our business and help us maintain desirable user growth and agent activation rates.
In this role, you'll:
• Support the day-to-day logistics of marketing operations: roadshows, stands, events in the assigned region.
• Prepare supporting materials, promotional merchandise for events, and other BTL activities.
• Receive stock of marketing supplies and materials from our vendors and suppliers, and organize appropriate dispatching; track inventory of all stock and organize orders to avoid stock-outs
• Support in planning, implementation, and promoting a monthly, weekly, and daily BTL plan in the assigned regions.
• Plan & manage the periodically ground activation & promotions in the given region
• Control events including preparation and performing Events & Exhibitions
• Monitor competitor market activities
• Plan and execute POS materials
Key details
• You'll work from our regional office and may travel to field locations.
• Work authorization in Uganda is required.

Requirements
• 2+ years of working experience in trade marketing, in-store communication, or a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or similar area
• Outstanding understanding of Marketing Mix
• Speak and write English fluently.
• Knowledge of at least one or more local languages
