Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) is a non-governmental organization that provides Development communication services aimed at influencing positive behaviors for the social development of men, women and children. CDFU is a partner on the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East Central Uganda Activity (USAID/Uganda RHITES EC). The purpose of this project is implementation of a comprehensive integrated investment in regional health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. This five-year activity targets 11 districts in East-Central Uganda. CDFU wishes to recruit qualified Ugandans to fill-in the following post:
Position: Behaviour Change Communication Specialist
Commitment: Full time
Reports to: BCC Advisor; Duty station- Iinja

Job Summary: The Specialist will take lead in SBCC program activities including providing technical assistance to Community Mobilization Officers and support capacity building in SBCC at district, project and community levels. The individual will support the project BCC Advisor in planning, documentation and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Masters Degree in Communication, Health, Social Sciences, Population or related field.
• The candidate must have at least 4 years’ experience in implementing Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) interventions. Demonstrate knowledgeable practice of working with districts, non-governmental and community based organizations as well as government departments.
• Must have experience working at the district and community levels to implement SBCC interventions. Knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDS, nutrition, malaria and child development is an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as‘ a team player. Good presentation and writing skills with computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
