Communication tor Healthy Communities (CHC) is a five-year program implemented through a‘ cooperative agreement between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Uganda) and FHI 360. The program supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and US government (USG) implementing partners to design and implement quality health communication interventions to contribute to reduction in HIV infections, total fertility, maternal & child mortality, malnutrition, malaria & tuberculosis. We seek applications for the following vacancy:

Behaviour Marketing Specialist
This position will be responsible for overseeing activities that address key demand side behaviours related to expanding health options. S/he will provide strategic, technical, and managerial guidance to the program. The position shall serve as a technical resource in behavior change for staff, partners/ grantees/subcontractors This position will be based in Northern Uganda and will report to the Chief of Party.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical oversight and assistance to the project in the areas of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), capacity strengthening, community mobilization, and advocacy.
  • Ensures behaviour change efforts are evidence-based, community-driven and in line with provisions of the award.
  • Leads and contributes to the development of behavior change strategies fora variety of focal audiences and technical areas. Leads and contributes to the planning, design, and implementation of behavior change activities at community and institutional levels.
  • Develops and tests materials, working with and providing direction to creative agencies. Designs, drafts, tests, finalizes, places, and monitors mass and other media in support of program activities.
  • Oversees and provides technical support toward the process of documentation of best practices and develops and distributes case studies and project briefs to highlight behavior change activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Anthropology, Psychology, Communication, Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field, OR a
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of additional relevant experience (in addition to the below requirement of 5 years)
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in generating innovative and effective demand generation or marketing solutions, preferably in Uganda;
  • Knowledge and implementation of behaviour change theory. Experience working in a USAID or other donor
    funded project. A solid understanding and appreciation of USAID and USAID project processes, procedures, rules and regulations;
