Overview
The role of the Branch Manager is to oversee all activities performed at the branch and supervise all areas of operation. The Branch Manager will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper branch operation.

Qualifications
Academic/Skills

  • Bachelors’ Degree in a business-related course – equivalent work experience will be considered as well
  • Good general IT user skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong Communication skills with strong business-related knowledge
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Fluency in English and other local languages specific to the area of operation
    Work experience
  • Minimum 4 years working experience in branch management in a fast-paced environment preferably in a bank or the financial sector.
  • Experience dealing with clients directly
  • Proven track record of fast execution on tasks and on-time delivery of high quality results
  • Capability to explain issues to clients in a well-structured and clear manner
  • Commercial awareness and ability to thrive in competitive markets
  • Knowledge of modern management techniques and best practices
  • Familiarity with industry’s rules and regulations

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport with clients and other stakeholders

    Responsibilities & duties
  • Direct all branch operations including product distribution, customer service, administration and sales
  • Oversee staff recruitment, placement, performance evaluation, engagement and reward of the staff at the branch
  • Facilitate staff development through training, coaching, development and motivation
  • Assess local market conditions, identify current and prospective sales opportunities and follow up on the same for successful business generation
  • Ensure that the branch meets the sales targets and production goals
  • Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans relating to branch activities
  • Manage branch budget and allocate funds appropriately for the different activities
  • Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
  • Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs
  • Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly in your region of operation
  • Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws relating to the company
  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company in the market
  • Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration
  • Ensure customers are trained on the product and regularly updates on any product changes or developments for excellent user experience
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers through regular interaction to ensure continued business and excellent user experience
  • Plan sales events in your region (often hand in hand with umbrella organizations)
  • Consolidate and comprehensively report on all branch activities to the Operations Manager on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
