CALL FOR QUOTATIONS TO SUPPLY, INSTALL, AND OPERATIONALIZE APPROPRIATE SMALL-SCALE SOLAR POWERED IRRIGATION INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SELECTED TREE NURSERIES.

Background
The consortium of Uganda Biodiversity Fund (UBF), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), Nature Uganda (NU), and Ecological Christian Organization (ECO)) was awarded the EU Grant Trust Fund number T-06-EUTF-HOA-UG-83-02 to implement the project entitled: "Restoring and conserving degraded fragile Ecosystems for improved community livelihoods among the refugee and host communities of West Nile Region and the Mid-Albertine rift". This is under implementation over a period of 48 months from December 7th, 2020, to December 6th, 2024, in the districts of Yumbe and Terego in West Nile region, and Kamwenge, Kyegegwa and Kikuube in Mid-Albertine Rift region. The project is aimed at mitigating impact of rapid population growth resulting from influx of refugees by restoring forests, woodlands and bushlands, and wetlands losses for improving the livelihoods of refugees and host communities.

Request for Quotations (RFO)
In line with Project outcome 2 that seeks to ensure that Landowners in refugee host communities are supported to adopt Agroforestry (AF) enterprises, Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), and Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices and under specific activity to Support selected tree nursery operators to sustainably produce quality agroforestry planting materials; the UBF invites quotations from qualified suppliers of solar powered irrigation equipment to deliver, install and test solar irrigation infrastructure on the listed selected tree nurseries in both West Nile and Mid Albertine Rift Regions. West Nile districts have been prioritized by this project because of the water stressed nature due to seasonality of water sources and the often prolonged dry spells experienced in this region
To guide quotation and expedite the execution of the assignment, the supplier should quote as per the items listed below:
• Name of owner of the nursery and his/her phone contact
• Type of water source
• Distance of water Source from Nursery Field (m) d) AElev between Water Source and Tank Site (m) e) TOH = AElev+hf+P/y-V2/2g+tank height (5 m) f) 8 hr Pumping rate 0, l/s (Current, future land size)
• Solar pump (a-surface, b-submersible), control, and the number of panels
• Number of tanks (10,000L)
• Recommended Option for consideration and
• The coordinates of the site

The quotations should include bills of quantities highlighting: Installation, training on operation and maintenance, and test cost were required.

Required capacity to be built to operate and maintain the infrastructure.

A maintenance plan for each site. 3. Period of engagement and logistics
The service Provider is expected to undertake the assignment between 16th July and 14th August 2024.

Eligibility Requirements:
• If you are an eligible/qualified service provider/company submit the following:
• A well written and detailed quotation.
• A duly signed letter of submission for the quotation.
• Evidence of registration of the company or firm (Attach certificate of incorporation/registration).
• At least 5 years direct experience supporting establishment of crop water supply systems in general and establishment of solar irrigation infrastructure in particular.
• Proof of requisite staffing with experience establishing water/ irrigation systems at the field level.
• Experience working with other partners including district local governments hosting the refugees and beneficiary communities is an added advantage.

A potential supplier can quote not more than 02 lots.
