JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Chief Engineer
Organisation: Ntake Bakery and Company Limited
Duty Station: Nalukolongo, Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Managing Director

About US:
In 1979, our first product was baked giving birth to Ntake bakery. Since then we have grown into a multi sector business comprising of a bakery, wheat mill and paper recycling plant. With household names like Kaswa baking flour, AAA tissue and our bread which has come to be simply known as Ntake, we have endeared ourselves to the hearts of many Ugandans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintaining all the factory machines in a good working condition
• Reading and interpreting, manuals, drawings and liaising with assigned expatriates in commissioning of machinery
• Advise on technical / engineering aspects of plant and equipment
• Maintain the company’s generators in a good working condition and draw up a service schedule for each.
• Ensure that all the employees in your department are doing their work according to plan and schedules.
• Make fault diagnosis and follow up on repair of machines upon break down.
• Organize and manage preventive maintenance activities in the factory.
• Supervise and monitor repair progress in case of breakdown
• Requisition for machinery spare parts and ensure that the right numbers and quality are procured and delivered.
• Account for all spare parts used during repairs and maintenance.
• Provide Technical Assistance to the technicians during the performance of their work.
• In your duties, you will be expected to maintain records accurately.
• You must become fully conversant with the correct issue and use of protective clothing.
• Ensure that supervisors are properly instructed and workers are properly trained to work in dangerous areas such rollers and Bins.
• Other duties and responsibilities will from time to time be delegated to you and will become part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Mechanical engineering.
• Master’s degree in Electrical engineering will be an added advantage.
• At least ten years of experience.
• Industrial experience preferably in wheat flour mill.
