The Human Resource Service Centre ( www.humanresourcecentre.com ), is spearheading the process of recruiting a Chief Executive Officer for Action for Fundamental Change and Development (AFFCAD), to be based in Kampala. (Position is for Ugandan nationals only)

Action for Fundamental Change and Development (AFFCAD)non- governmental organization founded in 2009, working to transform the living conditions in Kampala’s poorest slum areas by empowering the youth, children and women to mitigate the vulnerabilities through education, economic empowerment and health programs.
Job Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for AFFCAD’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. She/he will initially develop deep knowledge and guide on field, core programs, operations, and business plans. The CEO is responsible for building an efficient team of leaders that will work together to successfully design and execute a strategic plan for AFFCAD to achieve its goals and objectives. .
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
• Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
• Actively engage and energize AFFCAD’s management team, board members alumni, partner organizations and funders.
• Lead, coach, develop, and retain AFFCAD’s high-performance senior management team.
• Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components,
• so as to measure success that can be effectively communicated to AFFCAD’s stakeholders.
• Inspire and motivate staff to achieve with and deliver all activities in line with AFFCAD’s mission.
Governance and Board Relations.
• Maintain and support a strong relationship with board members; serve as ex-officio of the committee, seek, and build the board’s involvement with strategic direction for AFFCAD.
• Prepare and present Quarterly reports to the Board.
• Oversee the implementation of Board resolutions.
• Provide periodic input at board meetings on matters relating to AFFCAD operations.
• Participate in the induction of Board members in their management roles.
Fundraising & Communications:
• Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing operations and expansion.
• Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
• Use external presence and relationships to get new opportunities.
Planning Business and innovation.
• Lead the design and implementation of the business plan for expansion into new markets.
• Build business partnerships with with funders, social investors, government, community leaders.
Qualifications and Skills
• The prospective Chief Executive Officer should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, international Relations or other professional training related to this position with at least five years in senior management position.
• Post Graduate diploma / Masters is an added advantage.
• commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
• Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
• Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
