Job details:
Immediate Supervisor: Board of Directors

Relationship with other Jobs: Heads the management team and is the link between management and Board of Directors.

Overall purpose of the job: To head, control, coordinate the business of the cooperative. To give technical advice about the business to board of directors and the members of cooperative society and other stake holders.

Key tasks

• increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.
  
• Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.
  
• Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
  
• Coordinates efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field, and technical services policies and practices; coordinating actions with corporate staff.
  
• Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices
  
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the~art practices; participating in professional societies.
  
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  
• Ensure that the conditions given in the external agreement of the cooperatives are followed, like the Concession Agreement, the license from ERA and the power supply agreement with UETCL.
  
• Carry out any other task that might be allocated by the board of directors and Annual General Meeting.
  
• Chief accounting officer of the cooperative.

Principal Qualification

• Master degree in Business Administration preferably in management and related field and five years working experience in reputable organization.
  
• Degree in electrical engineering from reputable irrstitution Plus Master in Business Administration
  
• Qualification such as ACCA,CPA, CiMA etc. is an added advantage.
  
• The candidate must be between the age of 30 years and 45 years.

General Chief Executive Officer Skills required are;

• Performance Management, Staffing, Management Proficiency, Coordination, Coaching, Developing Standards, Financial Planning and Strategy, Process improvement, Decision Making, Strategic Planning, Quality Management.
