Reports to: Board of Directors
Tenure:
Full-time position on a service contract of three years subject to successful vetting of the candidate by the Insurance Regulatory Authority as a fit and proper person for the position and renewable based on successful performance.

IIB is an indigenous insurance brokerage services Company incorporated and operational in Uganda for the last forty years as a private limited liability company www.iibuganda.com. Since its incorporation the Company was under the able leadership of its founder and it is presently one of the largest indigenous insurance intermediaries in Uganda with its clientele consisting of both corporate and individual customers. Its vision is "To be the best provider of insurance brokerage services for life and non-life policies". IB is licensed and regulated by the insurance Regulatory Authority in line with the Insurance (Intermediaries) Regulations 2021 governing the Company, I wishes to recruit a suitably qualified candidate as its
Job title: Principal Officer/Chief Executive Officer.

Job Summary: Roles
• The Chief Executive Officer is expected to
• Support the Board in development of policies and guidelines to move IIB forward.
• Provide leadership to staff in the implementation of the approved policies and motivation of employees, to deliver on IIB's products and operations.
• Oversee operations, implement plans, and manage human, financial and physical resources.
• Foster communication between the Board, Management and external clients of 1B
• Driving profitability and growth of the IB business.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by the Company with the Industry legal requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• To provide technical support to the Board in the development of policies and guidelines for IIB. Prepare and present to the Board the entity's Strategic Plan(s) and Annual Budgets.
• Provide strategic leadership, guidance and supervision to B staff to enable achievement of IBS strategic objectives approved by the Board. The CEO shall therefore oversee marketing, promotion, and delivery of quality services.
• Lead in the preparation of operating Annual Budgets and Financial Reports (Management Accounts).
• Maintain high level contacts at Policy and Chief Executive Officer level with IRA and other national, regional and international public and private organizations, relevant to the growth of IB business.
• Prepare draft financial statements, accounts and annual reports and submit them for Board consideration and approval
• Draw up annual training and development programs for staff based on performance appraisal outcomes and approved budgets and plans.
• Recommend actions to the Board regarding staff recruitment, promotions, disciplinary action, salary increases, role reassignment, termination, etc. in accordance with approved staff terms and conditions of service.
• In consultation with the Board Chairman and Secretary Organize and prepare for General Meetings, Board meetings, seminars and workshops and implement decisions and resolutions taken.
• Supervise the efficient and effective delivery/provision of all support services and facilities required for the proper running of the business.
• Implement all related duties connected to those herein above stated and other legitimate duties as assigned by the Board from time to time.

Qualifications:
University Degree: Bachelor's degree in Insurance awarded by an approved university or institution, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, or related field.

Professional Qualification:
A professional qualification in Insurance.

Experience:
At least eight years working experience in the field of insurance with at least five years at Management level in a credible entity.

Competencies:
• Marketing and promotion of insurance services and good communication, writing and reporting skills.
• Results driven
• A Team player with ability to motivate
• Proven Financial knowledge
